Sunday, February 21st, was marked by yet another wave of protests re-enforcing the demand that president Jair Bolsonaro be impeached, commonly voiced by chants of “Fora Bolsonaro”, or “Bolsonaro Out”. Car and bicycle rallies took place in at least 12 states, as well as the Federal District of Brasília, coordinated by the Brazil Popular Front and the People Without Fear Front.

The demand that the current head of State be removed, sustained mainly because of the government’s mistakes in combating the pandemic in Brazil, which has already killed more than 245 thousand people, is strengthened by other priority issues these social movements voiced on the streets, like assuring all Brazilians get vaccinated, and the resumption of emergency assistance benefits.
